I’m kicking off December by featuring a shoot a did a little while back with local model, Christina Carpenter. Christina and I met in a Facebook group for local models and photographers called Creative Minds | Central Louisiana & Surrounding Areas. We originally planned something more woodsy but in true Louisiana fashion, mother nature was not on our side. We discussed new plans and executed those plans in early October.
The morning of our shoot, mother nature was against us yet again, but we made this idea work. The original idea was to shoot at sunrise, but a combination of alarms malfunctioning and extreme fog caused us to miss the darkness. We met atop a parking garage in downtown Baton Rouge as the sun had just come up. Christina was accompanied by her support pup, Kuma, and boyfriend, Ben.
I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned it here, but I absolutely love when models approach me with their own ideas and plans. Christina did not disappoint. She presented the idea of using bokeh and fairy lights to create somewhat of a pixie look, and I think we did it justice. Feel free to let me know what you think in the comments. We completed three different looks in three different locations all within an hour. I think it’s safe to say that Christina and I may have established a working photog model relationship and I’m excited to show you what else we come up with.
