One Bag to Hold It All
One secret that you may or may not know about me is that I love bags. I love rocking a new bag. I love having my gear in a new bag. I love trying to find the perfect bag or group of bags that compliment each other for the situation. I have casual bags, professional bags, and even bags used to hold other bags. However, when I went to England, I was in search of one bag to hold it all.
The Find in Camden
One of the days we were in England, we went exploring in Camden. It was where I picked up gifts for people, got my lightning bolt tattoo, and also where I found my new bag. For starters, it’s not a name brand bag. If you asked me what brand the bag is, I couldn’t tell you and the bag couldn’t either. I honestly believe that’s part of the reason I love it so much. You see, I walked into a random shop in the Camden market and was sold on the design alone. I was in search of a messenger style bag that was large enough to hold my computer and necessary paperwork, but could also hold my camera gear if needed. Of course I had my camera with me and once I held the bag to observe it, I made sure that my camera would fit (and not rattle around too much and break).
The bag I ultimately bought and now own was actually one of the first bags I looked at. However, I know better than to buy the first thing you see, so we ventured off from that shop to continue our day and I held the thought of that bag in the back of mind in case I didn’t see anything else for a reasonable price. Throughout the day we looked at clothes, shoes, random stores and everything else. Camden really is an interesting place. It reminded me a lot of New Orleans. As the day grew long and our journey was coming to an end, I had not found anything better than the first bag for a decent price. I’d seen great bags, but they also came with great price tags. At the end of the day, I went back to the shop and thanks to my soon to be sister in law, we haggled the guy down to a reasonable price and the bag was mine.
Holding It Together
I’ve owned this bag for 5 and a half months and I still rock it everyday. I love the messenger style. It has a ton of pockets and zippers and places to keep all of my things. It’s what I carry my Macbook in. I feel confident enough in it to bring it to casual meetings, and I’ve used it to carry my camera gear when necessary. Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with this purchase. I’m pretty tough on bags and this one has held up to every test. It hasn’t ripped, the zippers still work, the magnets that hold the front flap down are still in working order and everything. I’d recommend this bag to anyone if I could remember which shop I got it from and if the bag had a name. Oh well, I guess I’ll continue to rock this one of a kind.
